First part of Chavez doc shot in Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 13 (MNA) -- Iranian director Mohammadreza Akbari finished
shooting the first part of his documentary "Hugo Chavez" during the
Venezuelan president's visit to Iran last month.

The movie, which is being produced by Tehran's Experimental and
Documentary Film Center (EDFC), focuses on the political and personal
aspects of Chavez's life.

The crew is scheduled to travel to Caracas, Venezuela in about 45 days
to shoot the second stage of the film.

Born in 1954, Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias is the 53rd president of
Venezuela. As the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Chavez promotes
his vision of democratic socialism, Latin American integration, and
anti-imperialism. He is also an ardent critic of neoliberal
globalization and U.S. foreign policy.

He was awarded Iran's highest honorary medal, the Order of the Islamic
Republic of Iran, First Grade, on behalf of the Iranian nation by
Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad during a ceremony at the
University of Tehran on July 30.
