Re: anti-GM is bad?
I enjoyed seeing Daniel's picture.
I should also mention that the US does not do any real research into
problems that GM might create. Led by that great American Dan Quayle,
it was decided that GM foods were no different from non-GM foods. Marc
Lappe, who was one of the brightest people I have ever known, published
research on the nutritional deficiencies of GM soy.
A very interesting book is
Smith, Jeffrey M. 2003. Seeds of Deception: Exposing Industry and
Government Lies about the Safety of the Genetically Engineered Foods
(Fairfield, IA: Yes! Books).
Regarding Quayle, did anybody catch that Charles Barkely defined
himself as an ex-republican, calling them crazy, while disapproving of
Quayle's behavior?
