maybe this war involves an Israeli effort to get Hizbollah to use up its missiles, which would stop the missiles flying for awhile... (Further, the missiles don't seem very effective except at raising Israeli public support for the govt.)
The NYT says that Tel Aviv says that only 50 rockets hit Israel on Thursday, "a sharp drop from 150 the day before" (Jad Mouawad and Steven Erlanger, "Marines Return to Beirut to Aid U.S. Evacuation," NYT, 21 Jul 06).
