To the Editor:

Questioning the "proportionality" of the Israeli response to attacks
on its citizens mimics the absurd notion echoing in European capitals.

Would it satisfy the Europeans if more Jews were killed or wounded,
thus making the casualty count more quantitatively symmetrical?
