"War in Iraq versus Containment" NBER Working Paper No. W12092
Our analysis also indicates that war and forcible regime change will yield large improvements in the economic well-being of most Iraqis relative to their prospects under the containment policy, and that the Iraqi death toll would likely be greater under containment.
That's nice, are STEVEN J. DAVIS, KEVIN M. MURPHY, and ROBERT H. TOPEL going to move to Iraq and cash in on the stated humanitarian benefits of war vs. containment? Perhaps they will be able to test their hypothesis and inform the American public of the validity of that statement... if they live.
