Re: All-out assault on UAW

Do the French unions have that much stronger roots among the people?
Are they less bureaucratized than US unions. Or is it that the arrival
of neoliberalism in Europe was more sudden?

But then also I'm amazed that the immigration issue sparked such an
outpouring, especially after immigrants seem to have been effectively
marginalized, given the intense media attention to fringe groups like
the Minutemen.

Why is it that it is so much more difficult for workers to see
themselves as a class than for immigrants to identify with each other?
The media had given the impression that a good number of
second-generation immigrants saw a continue inflow of immigration
undermining their own position.
