BUENOS AIRES -(Dow Jones)- Oil workers in Argentina's hydrocarbons-rich
Neuquen province clashed Thursday with striking teachers whose
roadblocks have cut off a Repsol-YPF (REP) refinery for almost a week,
local media reported.

Argentine news channel Telenoticias reported that a handful of
protesters were wounded in the skirmish, which was broken up by police.

The school teachers are demanding higher wages, while the oil workers
say the roadblocks outside the Repsol refinery in the town of Plaza
Huincul are putting their jobs in jeopardy.

The clash broke out when oil workers tried to push the striking teachers
off of the road in front of the refinery, news service Noticias
Argentinas reported.

The teachers have been on strike for six days.

The teachers' blockades have forced Repsol

from other refineries in Argentina to supply Neuquen filling stations.
