Re: Black democractic althlete-politicians



I'm not sure if there is such a huge difference. It may not be a good idea
to judge how the political views of athletes are formed by only looking at
those seeking office. Some athletes or former athletes like Keyshawn
Johnson, Steve Nash and (not an american though, neitheri s Nash but he
plays and I think lives in the U.S.) Diego Maradona are leftists or
democrats. Ozzie Guillen has priased Chavez publicly.

Just looking at actors who have become prominent in politics, you have
right wingers like Arnold or Reagan.

Also, most actors live in or around Las Angeles. Is it supposed to be a
liberal city? If so, that may explain some of the difference.

Furhter, is it more likely that alot of athletes are rags to riches
stories where with actors it is suburban middle class to riches more
often?  Isn't the former type of story somehting right wingers love?
Altohugh all of this is mere speculaiton.
