I used to work in an communications consulting office
and although I primarily did social policy research, I
did a bit of political communications consulting too.
Although there may be Svengalis who are communications
consultants not all ccs are Svengalis who control the
political agenda. A competent PR person tries to
represent the client's interests, even where they
don't agree 100% with the consultants own views. Let's
face it, Kerry was and is a opportunistic jelly fish
-- he wasn't made one against his will by his
handlers.
