Too much of the political debate on both lbo-talk and pen-l is conducted
in complete abstraction from any actual work organizing. This takes
various forms. In the present case the worry about Cindy Sheehan & the
badmouthing of MoveOn fails to distinguish between forces & individuals
that we (non-DP leftists) _can_ work with and forces & individuals we
can _not_ work with. Whatever MoveOn is at the 'top' (where the tie-in
with the DP may be strong), the fact is that one can work with most
local MoveOn people. And if that work is done properly there is at least
a reasonable chance of eventually breaking the link between those people
and the DP.
