Socialist Economics Congress in Turkey

The working groups of the Socialist Economics Congress in Turkey are being
formed The first SEC meets in December
The Socialist Economics Congress in Turkey (SEC) is going to be held in
Istanbul, on December 17 and 18.
SEC is aiming at bringing socialist economists and intellectuals together in
order to analyze the current problems of world economy in general, and of
Turkish economy in particular so as to discuss alternative policies and to
make the socialist alternative concrete.
The Consultative Committee of the SEC, which is organized by the Left
Council and the University Councils Association, is comprised by the
following economists and intellectuals: Ahmet HaÅim KÃse, Ahmet ÃncÃ, Alper
Birdal, Ayfer EÄilmez, Aziz Hatman, BurÃak ÃzoÄlu, E. Ahmet Tonak, Erhan
KaraÃay, Erinà Yeldan, Erkin Ãzalp, Älker Belek, Äzzettin Ãnder, Korkut
Boratav, Mesut Odman, Nail SatlÄgan, Nihat Falay, Perihan SarÄ, ÃzgÃr
MÃftÃoÄlu, Ãztin AkgÃÃ, Tahir ÃngÃr, Tevfik Ãavdar, YÃcel ÃaÄlar.
The SEC will have international participants and supporters, as well as
working groups that are going to be established in several countries.
