Re: Work-til-you-drop America

Similarly, in a reasonably decent society, in which no one worked more

something like the warehousing of students in schools simply to keep
them off the streets and the job-market.

after working 18-20 hrs a day for over two months, and 60-90 hr weeks for
five years before that, I can't think of anything better than utterly
nothing to do. I can't even sleep more than 5 hours any more without waking
up with a start, worrying about everything I have to do!
Please, don't take retirement away from me. I will refinish furniture, loll
around reading Fanshen, dust my bookcase, visit museums, go to outdoor
concerts, walk the dog, and paint my nails..... happily doing nothing else
-- for years.
Please?

p.s. Carrol, I hunted down more info on the Ptahhotep quote--thanks to a
listmate at a Web design list.

Happy is the heart of him who writes; he is young
