Apart from the nominal earnings all inmates get, Martha Stewart will receive
big money indeed from one thing she did make in prison:  a new image for
herself.  As the NY Times puts it:  " ... Ms. Stewart has used prison to
soften her image -- to make her, in the public eye, a more sympathetic
person than the perfectionist entertainer and executive she was seen to be
before her sentence."

If nothing else, the always-frightening Martha dramatically validates
Nietzsche's claim in Götzen-Dämmerung:  "Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich
stärker."  (What does not destroy me, makes me stronger.)
