I'm surprised that no-one quoted the following in response to Bush's
prattling about "freedom" in the State of the Onion address and
elsewhere:
>The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, ... has resolved
personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless
indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable
freedom - Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious
and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct,
brutal exploitation.
>... Into their [the feudal relations of property's] place stepped free
competition, accompanied by a social and political constitution adapted
in it, and the economic and political sway of the bourgeois class.<
