Subject: actual sado-monetarism
Has anybody looked at
Wennerlind, Carl. 2004. 2004. "The Death Penalty as Monetary Policy: The
Practice and Punishment of Monetary Crime, 1690-1830." History of
Political Economy, 36: 1 (Spring): pp. 131-61?
It is a fascinating discussion of the death penalty for counterfeiters.
Newton was the head honcho. I have not had a chance to look at one of
the references.
Craig, John. 1958. "Isaac Newton -- Crime Investigator." Nature, 182:
4629, 149-52.
