probably a misquote from the Algerian war.
An Algerina leader of the FNL (?) when asked whether he thought it was
right to let off bombs in the cafés frequented by the French replied:
You have planes and fly over our villages and bomb them; We have no
planes. Give us planes and we'll stop bombing the cafés.
The real quote in french, which alluded to the fact that the bombs were
hidden in shopping baskets, ended up approxiamtely "give us the planes,
then we'll stop using the baskets".
Those were acts of real terrorism since the tactic was of course to
terrorise the civil colonial population to leave.
Nowadays even shooting at a tank is considered by the media an act of
"terrorism".
RIP the english language.
