>>CB: As General Secretary of the CPSU, Gorbachev's speeches on Universal Human Values were based on fundamentally materialist political concepts, in that, nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to humanity's material existence.
In this regard, objectively, taking a step back from the eleventh hour of nuclear confrontation, even in surrender in the "Cold" War, was Marxist. Soviet surrender of its Socialist label and Berlin walls as a demand of imperialism for peace in the Cold War, was an action placing the human species before the CPSU and bourgeois-defying tradition of the SU revolution...for now.
Right on , Comrade Gorbachev ! the great materialist. <<
Comment
I do not believe in political concepts such as "bourgeois surrender" or "Marxist surrender" . . . only surrender or victory on behalf of a class in the context of the article on Gorbachev campaign against WMD. It seems to me that Gorbachev's attempted disarming of the USSR, roll back and his withdrawals of troops was motivated by economic factors and internal political considerations in trying to reform the Soviet Union according to his personal vision.
In fact the threatened use of nuclear weapons and the actual (ACTUAL) use of nuclear material in warfare has increased as the result of policies attributed to Gorbachev's concern for "Universal Human Values" and his "Marxist surrender."
The fall out from using nuclear material in shells in the Middle East is being felt today not only in the returning of American troops from Iraq but in dangerous levels of radiation poisoning in Iraq, which has the scientific community up in arms. The projections of the impact of using nuclear on the coming generations is staggering.
Nor do I believe it is a correct assessment to state that the political polarity, . . . antagonism between Soviet Power and American lead bourgeois property faced an 11th hour dooms day scenario during the Reagan and Gorbachev administration. I believe the war danger was more acute during the Cuban missile crisis when America's national existence fell under direct threat.
The idea that during the Reagan era we . .. humanity, stood at the brink of disaster is the logic of a coward. As if death from napalm is preferable to death by nuclear . . . except to the imperial peoples who have to face the fallout from their aggressive bourgeoisie.
One has to learn the lesson of the play ground bully.
In Middle School Robert Map was taking my quarters for lunch. This came to an end when I refused to give him my quarter and threatened to get my big brother and started hanging out with my own crew. American led Imperialism as a political system had no desire to attack the Soviets as their nuclear equivalent because the bourgeoisie as a class does not seek its own destruction. One has to look at all the military encounters of our government since Vietnam and then after the fall of the Soviet Union.
Reagan jumped on one of the tinniest country on earth, Grenada. Today negotiations is taking place with North Korea because she will launch if her national existence is threatened.
Gorbachev is no comrade but an old fashion Social Democrat and one can check out his foundation and its polices. There is a material reason why the coup against him had its basis in the military establishment . . . bureaucracy. History is going to prove that he was recruited by the intelligence agencies of bourgeois imperialism.
