Having so exaggerated Reagan's "evil," shouldn't you
be modest enough to recognize that you might

Ever heard of Woodrow Wilson?  Compared Afghanistan/Iraq Wars
(both supported, by the way, by your candidate) to World War I
and the invasion of Mexico?Compared the imprisonments and
deportations by John Ashcroft  to the work of A. Mitchell Palmer
and J. Edgar Hoover? Compared the establishment of legal racial
segregation in DC to the foredoomed "Gay Marriage" constitutional
amendment?  Considered the consequences of the Versailles Treaty
and the antibolshevik Intervention?

Ubu and Buchanan, though, can be comparable in their
*inaction* on the burning issue of their time--slavery
and secession then, global warming now.  But then Lincoln
posed an alternative.  Now we have none, not even Gore!
