superprofits

I am glad Jim D. brought in the distinction between profits and "surplus
value". Perlo refers to "superprofits". Not superexploitation. I believe the
rate of exploitation is a ratio between surplus value and variable capital.
The rate of profit is the ratio between surplus value and total capital.

CB: Actually, Perlo does refer to superexploitation as well.

I should add that Perlo explicitly repudiates the Labor Aristocracy category
for _most_U.S. workers. So, he claims there are superprofits from especially
racism in the U.S. as well as from foreign direct investments, BUT, that
they are _not_ the source of "bribing" any large number of U.S. workers (
contra what I suggested on this thread).

Here are some figures that might be criticized or checked. Perlo claims that
" the combined superprofits from extra exploitation of minorities in the
United States and from foreign investment $246 billion ( $150 billion of
extra profit from racist exploitation in the U.S. and $96 billion from U.S.
foreign investments) accounted for one-third of the total property income
received in the United States in 1984. (citation) "

I think this results in the fact that workers in Kansas are exploited at a
higher rate than those in some other countries, but the rate of profit may
be higher even though non-Kansas workers are exploited at a lower rate.
