I didn't know about the disco but I am not surprised.
I spend a lot of time by the Lubyanka because there is
an Internet cafe/game center full of Russian teenagers
playing Quake where I check my email next door. Putin
put back up the plaque dedicated to Andropov, who
supposedly, alongside De Gaulle, is his hero.
Incidentally Andropov's great-grand-niece is a good
friend of mine.

The Brezhnev monument is actually quite nice and
understated I think, just a youngish Leonid Ilych with
a jacket thrown over his left shoulder.
