I've been thinking that this metaphor of "theft" lets the Democrats
off the hook, though I've used it myself from time to time.  What do
we call it when a supposed victim of "theft" makes sure that the
"thief" will get away with it, by working with the "thief" to put
down an attempt to catch the "thief"???
