Re: Beslan
By the by, one not unlikely result of these terrorist
attacks around Chechnya (in Dagestan, Ingushetia and
now North Ossetia), if they continue, is interethnic
war between Chechens, Ingush, Ossetians and Dagestani
Avars. (Why do they keep calling it a "Russian
school," dammit, it's in North Ossetia. Those are
Ossetian children.) The Avars already hate the
Chechens because of Basayev's raids and the Chechen
kidnap industry, which cut through Dagestan like a
buzzsaw. The Ingush and Ossetians have already come to
blows in the last decade over disputed property and
that killed a lot of people. Some Ossetians are
already calling for revenge against the Chechens and
Ingush. Come to think of it this was probably the
point of the hostage-taking. Doesn't make much sense
if you're a Chechen nationalist, but it makes a lot of
sense if what you are trying to do is destablize the Caucasus.
