Sadly, Gorby pretty much bowed out of politics a
couple of months ago after he resigned his position
has head of the Social Democratic Party of Russia. (I
say sadly on a personal level, because I feel sorry
for the guy.) I think he's still keeping up his Green
Cross environmental work. He's resoundingly pro-Putin.

I was at a press conference with Mikhail Sergeyevich a
few years ago, and he does ramble when he talks. He
has a pronounced provincial accent.
