Oh, the "Gorbachev was an agent of the West" trope
occasionally appears in the Russian ultranationalist
press, often linked with evil Zewish conspiracies. I
think it's bunk. Gorbachev was a bumbler, not a
traitor. He tried to preserve the Union as long as he could.
