Yes. I presume that they will find some face-saving way to do it. But
the anti-war movement is not supposed to be a think-tank for imperialist
pr. We keep saying Out! If we are large enough (and have spread our
activities into other areas), we can then when the u.s. does pull out
(a) try to expose their face-saving and (b) take credit for them getting
out.
In the meantime, the larger and louder the demand to Get Out Now! in the
U.S. (and elsewhere) is, the more careful the pricks have to be in Iraq.
We save lives that way. The U.S. slaughtered 2 to 3 million Vietnamese.
I suspect that without our our Get Out Now! efforts it might have been 4
to 5 million.
Had the movement somehow lasted into the mid-70s, we could have met the
charges of having undermined the effort with whoops of delight. I
daydreamed of a million people in D.C. when Saigon fell whooping it up!
Unfortunately, it's an election year and all the troops have disappeared
into the ABB fog.
