Recently, I discovered the WikiPedia at http://en.wikipedia.org. It's a free encyclopedia being created on-line by contributors. I added a bit on unemployment today since I felt unemployed (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unemployment; a lot of the article was written by someone else).
Anyway, every once and awhile, someone suggests that pen-l produce some sort of collective project, but the prospect always seems akin to that of herding cats. The existence of the WikiPedia suggests two ideas:
1. someone could set a WikiLeft Encyclopedia that we could all contribute to, promising to be good and trying to avoid sectarianism and personal attacks.
or
2. anyone who feels like it could add their own expertise to the WikiPedia, making sure not to use jargon or rhetoric that turns off outsiders.
