I would guess that if Kerry wins this year, almost any Republican
nominated will win in 2008. Kerry has promised to carry out the Bush
program more intelligently. But occupations of hostile nations cannot be
carried out intelligently, nor can there be an intelligent conduct of a
war against an abstraction (terror). And no program initiated by Kerry
will help the economy, so it will be a matter of sheer contingency
whether that plays for him or against him.

The _only_ hope for the future lies in a principled anti-imperialist
movement (generating a _really_ large anti-interventionist movement)
which rejects both the DP & RP and focuses on bringing politics back to
american life.
