I asked because you said, by way of example, "Even Michael Eisner is
a worker, at least for a little while longer." A good number of
Americans may be confused about class, but I doubt too many of them
are so confused as to think that Eisner is just a worker like most of
them.
Americans who are confused about class probably wish to believe that
college education, white-collar work, and/or supervisory
responsibilities put them out of the working class and into the
"middle class," rather than believe that Eisner is a worker and not a
capitalist because he works.
