at least in CA, some of the homeless are more than just victims of capitalism. There's an
additional twist. They are victims of Governor Reagan-era de-institutionalization, a result
of an unholy alliance of right-wing and liberal anti-psychiatric feelings. People were dumped
out of mental institutions, while the promised community support network was never financed.
Now, of course, many are being re-institutionalized, receiving "treatment" in prison.
Meanwhile, Reagan gets luxury treatment as the Fried Prince of Bel-Air.
