Re: when Quinn the Eskimo gets here, Ev'rybody's gonna jump for joy?

Perhaps the people of western Europe should support the Inuit in this
claim.

I assume many list members know that the main model for explaining the
massive climatic effects of the Atlantic Gulf Stream bringing warm
water north across the Atlantic, is the sinking of cold water beneath
the frozen Arctic ice cap which produces a deep cold countercurrent
flowing southwards.

When the ice melts this may suddenly stop and the climate of north
western Europe will become similar to corresponding latitudes in north
America - very much colder.

Global warming is killing us too, say Inuit

The Inuit people of Canada and Alaska are launching a human rights
case
against the Bush administration claiming they face extinction because
of
global warming.

By repudiating the Kyoto protocol and refusing to cut US carbon
dioxide
emissions, which make up 25% of the world's total, Washington is
violating their human rights, the Inuit claim.
