      Guess what I heard about Shleifer being appointed JEL editor
was a false rumor.  Now that this appears to be the case, I don't
remember where I heard it, unless of course, this is just a ruse
and he is the shoo-in, already selected.

  2. The AEA's Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) seeks nominations for the annual Carolyn Shaw Bell Award, given to a woman who has furthered the status of women in the economics profession. Nominations are due September 15, 2003.
