I'd like to propose a project for this list. Let's make a short
animated movie that demonstrates how the top 1% of the population
is impoverishing the rest of us.
Opening Scene: A scene of relative plenty, a happy middle class, the
toiling poor. The wealthy scheme together and use their marionettes
to construct a force field. This field sucks wealth from the happy
middle class and the poor in a whirling vortex. Result: more hours
worked, more misery everywhere but at the top, suspicion, greed
permeating all around, and the wealthy laughing like pigs. The vortex
sucks cash, time, opportunities, and political freedoms. The whirling
vortex has a voice over of Ashcroft, Bush, Reagan, Dole, and other
pseudo-conservatives preaching their gospel.
Details: fill in how this is done through conscious policy decisions.
Show how people can't actually see the vortex: they only see that
government is robbing them by taxing them. They don't see the huge
wealth transfer to corporations and the wealthy.
Time length: no more than 5 minutes.
