Re: economics articles

Look, I'm going to explain this just one more time. Government is BAD except when it is attacking the enemy of the moment, locking up petty offenders against property and other colored people, and handing over large chunks of the commons to private industry for profitable development. This is called Minimal Government and it is a Necessary Evil. As such it is GOOD. If you object to it you are a Traitor and should be sent back to Russia or Iraq or whereever, even if you are a blonde and buxom country singer. If you support confiscatory taxation, forced "justice," oppresive regulation, or so-called "civil liberties," you are also a Traitor. Is everything clear now? Shuddup and get back to work defending the Free Enterprise System. Isn't that what they pay you for?

I'm just going over the new American Economic Review. I was struck by how
many articles economists are now publishing that supposedly prove the
destructiveness of people foolishly manipulating the government. The
culprits are usually those special interests who want the government to
regulate industry, tax corporations, or protect people.

One article explains lobbying as a justifiable defense against the
confiscatory taxation.
