Bill,
Ah, but the Israelis believed Saddam was a
threat. They did go knock out the Osirak reactor
at one point. Also, although Saddam had no link
with anti-US terrorist groups, especially al Qaeda,
he most certainly did house and support very
vigorous anti-Israeli groups, including his famous
payments to the families of dead suicide bombers.
The Israelis and the Kuwaitis are the two nations
who are clearly much happier to see Saddam go,
and they are among the few countries where the
opinion of the US has not simply gone down the
toilet since the war.
