Isn't that a fairly common position among activists and scholars in the
Marxist tradition who favor a non-sectarian and non-dogmatic approach?

To put it succinctly as possible, Leo Panitch is a left social
democrat--sort of like Tony Benn. That is not really a bad thing, but it is
not what I and other people trying to reconstruct the revolutionary
movement are up to. The key for me is to reject the counter-productive
"Marxist-Leninist" model, while retaining the kernel of what Lenin was
trying to do.
