All class societies share generic traits -- and those generic traits
will be manifest both in the spontaneous thinking of "everyday life" and
in the "official" rationalizations / explanations (theories) of any
given class society (e.g., capitalism). This is one of the reasons
Plato's _Republic_ retains its power to illuminate. But different class
societies are _really_ different, and it seems to me that it can blur
more than expand understanding to make quick and easy comparisons
without focusing on the differences.
