Probably not so much in Tanzania, where accumulation isn't easy pickings. My
PhD included a study of Zimbabwe (then 'Rhodesia') during the 1930s-70s
epoch when the white settler bourgeoisie really got their luxury-ISI project
rooted thanks to massive state inputs. Similar story in South Africa. I can
send a couple of chapters if anyone wants the info (let me know offlist at
pbond@xxxxxxxxxx). Kenya is a good case for studying
party-state-(small)capitalist relations, as Colin Leys has shown.
