Specifically, tough Louis --who is now every Turk's Eniste!!--
Ahmet,
I cannot believe that you ruined my nice gesture to Louis in such
a manner.
I thought I was joining you in calling Louis Eniste. My apologies for
the unintentional damage I caused.
As a punishment to you, from now on I will call you
"Agabey", that is, "the older brother", so that everybody would
now you are about a decade older than I am.
I accept your punishment, though, as you know well, no younger brother
could dare to punish his older brother in our traditions.
By the way, there is another web site that may be interest to at
least some Turkish members of this list:
http://www.ekonomistler.com
In there, there is this so-called survey to determine the Turkish
economist of the year.
I voted for Dani Rodrik (whom most of you would know), Erinc
Yeldan (who is a member of the Independent Social Scientist group
Ahmet mentioned) and Izzettin Onder (one of my beloved teachers,
and possibly a member of the group Ahmet mentioned, although I
have never taken any courses from him, and a friend. If you are
an American and vote for my beloved teacher, it is like voting
for Michael Perelman).
Just go to the above link if you choose to vote.
It is under the title "Anket" on the right-most column of the
site. It is the second "anket" in the column, with the longer
list, under the subtitle "Yilin Ekonomisti - 2002 Anketi".
I went there but I couldn't locate "anket" where you referred to.
Hence, I do not know the entire list. But out of those three names you
suggested, my choice is Erinc.

Frequently the only possible answer is a critique of the
question and the only solution is to negate the question.
