You might want to check out Edward Nell, Prosperity and Public Spending, and also some of the contributions in another book edited by Nell, Free Market Conservatism. I also vaguely recall there being something in one of the URPE readers, either/both U.S. Capitalism in Crisis or Macroeconomics from a Left Perspective.
