[PEN-L:33636] Re: taxing dividends
instructive thread.
If untaxing dividends tilts the balance further in favour of finance
capitalist corporations then how much are the supposed democracy of
shareholders really the beneficiaries?
Presumably every share likely to benefit from this change in
taxation, will have enjoyed an increase in its price which will already
start to anticipate the change in net yield. But once that price has
adjusted, the next new saver of $1000 dollars is facing a pretty similar
array of savings options, all dominated by the workings of finance
capital, over which even the biggest investor has no collective conscious
control.
So in the contradiction between finance capital and the shareholder
investor, the removal of taxes if anything increases the
domination of finance capital, including the pressure for monopoly
mergers?
