Well said.

One point about the film I haven't seen mentioned: and one doesn't have to see the film to make it. Say that you had not heard of the film before and just heard the title. What would be your first thought in response to the phrase "gangs of New York" in 2002? And of course that first thought is tipped upside down the minute you learn about the film at all.
