[PEN-L:32468] Re: Re: RE: Re: The Economics Biz

By the way, I was wrong about the location of Sachs's new house. It's
close to Central Park, and therefore east of me. The NYT story
suggested Hudson River views, but the New York Observer gave the
actual address (52 W 85).

As for the social geography of the UWS - values rise as you approach
the river, though the highest prices are close to Central Park,
Amsterdam is the low point - far from fully gentrified, and still
full of Dominicans. But Riverside Drive is prime real estate, and
West End is pretty pricey too.

Michael Moore, Lucianne Goldberg, and I are all just off Broadway
(83rd, 84th, and 85th Sts respectively). Dunno what that says about
social status.

I've noticed that on the upper west side of Manhattan, as one moves
westward toward the Hudson River, the social status of the
residents rises steeply. (Compare Amsterdam and West End avenues.)
Is that true on 85th street?

Sachs will be my new neighbor, about a block and a half west on 85th St. Anyone want me to deliver him a message?
