Sen. Wellstone Was on Crashed Plane - Democrats

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic Sen. Paul Wellstone was on a plane
carrying eight people that crashed in northern Minnesota on Friday,
Democratic Party sources said.
The senator was on board the Beech aircraft enroute from St. Paul to
Eveleth in Minnesota's rugged Iron Range country.
Wellstone is one of the most liberal Democrats in the Senate and has
been campaigning for reelection.
