[PEN-L:31568] N Korea offers non-aggression treaty

North Korea has trumped US hegemonic moves by chosing the moment of the
Iraq "crisis" to reveal disarmingly that it has broken previous agreements
about developing "weapons of mass destruction". ie it has behaved like
Pakistan, India, and Israel, in secretly developing nuclear weapons. Indeed
there is some evidence that to do so it cooperated with Pakistan, now a
vital US ally in the "war against terror"

Since even the US cannot afford to invade Iraq and North Korea
simultaneously Rumsfeld has boasted of how it is using diplomatic
measures, such as intermediaries like Japan to raise the question with N Korea.

Now this morning Korea has revealed that it is prepared to cooperate with
inspection provided the US signs a non agression treaty. A cleverly tricky
question. The Rumsfeld view of the new developing world order is that it
only works if the US reserves the prerogative to invade anywhere, anytime
it chooses, and all diplomacy is secondary to that.

Through contradictions we are equilibrating towards a framework of
world-governance

post the obvious.]
