Based on the little time Daschle was given to
state his case, it seemed to me he was arguing
that the patriotism of the Dems was once again
being questioned. This then got related to the
so-called debate about the war with Iraq that the
'evil Baathist' removal machine has long wanted.
The major miscalculation that both sides are
probably making is that the minority who are US
voters in the upcoming elections are more
concerned about the economy and make little or no
connection between still yet another bombing
campaign against the villain of the month and
their own jobs--unless they are that hardcore of
significant millions who depend on federal
'defense' spending for their livelihoods.
