[PEN-L:29529] Re: Union Leader Yokich Dead
I gotten angry right before its time for me to go to work. The thread which looked at sectarianism morphed into a thread that insisted on examining the economic basis and logic in which sectarianism operates as opposed to the ideological formulations.
It is most certainly true that history should be studied and disclosed, especially the Earl Browder period. Browder's story is one of monumental betrayal based in some profoundly specific American political development. This history entails the repudiation of the methodology of Marx. Not the ideology of the doctrine of the class struggle, but methodology.
The failure of the UAW to organize the plants in the South is not understood because there is no understanding that the words "Southern Strategy" means the national colonial question. Taft-Hartley's Right to Work laws are based - as application, in the colonial South. The North developed as an appendage to the South in our history and it was only during the transition from manufacture to industry that the irresistible conflict exploded. The problem is the moment ones says national colonial question someone says black people and labor.
One would think there was no Civil War in America.
We operate under the conditions of the absurd. Preserving an indigenousness form of Marxism in America has been more than a notion. Steve's administration imposed Yankee chauvinism as a political form of rule of capital on everything the union was supposed to stand for. Wht did Bush have to win in Flordia? Does anyone remember Liberty City two times explosions?
Here is the base of reaction and the meaning of the national colonial question and the responsibility of us Yanks.
This is of course why the union administration made their appeal to the proletarian strategist. The problem is that the polarization of the working class is appearing as a reconfigured fault line, that no longer runs alone a configuration of the national colonial question. That period of history is spend and the question has undergone transformation.
Got to go to work.
