I don't think anybody believes that "calling for socialism" is
constructive.  Most people don't want what they think socialism is.

Organizing for change is very difficult to do well.  It means that the
organizers must find a way to articulate the progressive demands of people
and use that success to create a dialogue between themselves and the
people.

Much of the discussion about reform revolves around a dialogue with those
who hold the reins of power.
