He must have been plagiarizing some other anti-imperialist. :-)

When I was a teen in the late '70's early 80's and the liberation
theology movement was starting to generate debate amongst US
Catholics, a Dominican monk who'd spent a lot of time in South
America told parishioners at my parents church that Jesus was a
revolutionary and if they couldn't handle that basic fact they
didn't understand what he was up to. I wonder if the guy is still
alive.
