Salon was a mixed bag politically, with a mixture of Nation
Magazine liberalism and rightist crap, all packaged in a kind of snide
Village Voice "aren't we all so clever" ribbon.

A virtual twin of Slate, in other words. It's a pity Slate can count on the deep pockets of Microsoft; I've been looking forward to it disappearing for a long time.
