RE: good economics writing & abstraction

Thanks for the good press (I'm one of the editors at D&S). In addition to
Frank Ackerman, who was one of the founders of the magazine (and remains a
friend), economists like Ellen Frank, John Miller, Chris Tilly, and Arthur
MacEwan write for the magazine regularly, and in a way that's useful for a
popular audience. We also publish a number of anthologies of articles from
the magazine (Real World Macro, Real World Micro, Current Economic Issues,
Real World Globalization, Real World Banking, and Environment in Crisis)
that are designed for use in college classes, and a couple of other books
(Introduction to Political Economy by Geoff Schneider, Charles Sackrey, and
Janet Knoedler; Unlevel Playing Fields: Understanding Wage Inequality and
Discrimination, by Randy Albelda, Robert W. Drago, and Steven Shulman). You
can check out their tables of contents at the Dollars & Sense website
<http://www.dollarsandsense.org/bookstore.html>.

Michael Perelman:> I might have added Phil Mirowski as an excellent writer,
although he does not usually write for an popular audience.<

Among good leftist economics writers, we should mention such authors as
those currently at, or once at, Dollars & Sense (e.g., Frank Ackerman)
